You can choke up to that point from now on and/or take it to a club fitter and have him cut it off. I kind of recommend that because sometimes if you really choke up so much and cut it off, you can get to the point where the head might need a little more weight to be put back into it. A good club fitter can figure that out and help you do that.
Cutting an inch off a Graphite driver shaft is about 2-3 grams of weight. No human on earth could detect this overall weight change taken from the butt end of a club. Certainly the club will feel different being played shorter, but it isn't because of total weight, it's because of swingweight. Quote. Link to comment.
Up Milling: Down Milling: 1. This machine is also called as conventional milling. This is called a climb down milling. 2. The cutting forces act upward. The cutting forces act downward. 3. Mostly used for rough cutting operations. This is used for finishing operations. 4. Due to the more tool wear rate, the durability of the tool is less.
The chip width increases from zero and then increases as the process goes on. Chip width changes from maximum to minimum value. 8. Up milling is mostly used for rough cutting operations. Down milling is used for finishing operations. 9. Tool wear rate is more as the direction of rotary cutter is against the feed.
An upcut mill pulls the waste out as the mill rotates. Downcut mills push the waste back into the mortise being cut. Compression mills do both. The top .250" or so of the mill pulls the waste out and the rest of the mill pushes down. The practical benefit of a compression mill is the clean edges it leaves on the surface as it's cutting.
At the end of the day, all that was left to cut were some nine "sticks" — a.k.a. narrow trees — that Lee would return the next day to cut down with the help of the boom on the logger's truck. Maine is mostly forest. Maine is known as the Pine Tree State, with over 90 percent of the state forested.

Up end mill:,First of all, the up end mill is the tool rotation, milling out of the chip is to go up, and it will not plug in the slot, For acrylic, PVC,MDF, wood and a series of plates, very functional. Down cut: It is downward rotating, It is used for cutting boards and other boards made of wood chips, without burrs on the cutting surface.

cut down 1. Literally, to chop something down, as of a tree. In this usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "cut" and "down." Unfortunately, we'll have to cut down that old tree because the inspector thinks it could fall on our house in a bad storm. 2. To insult or disparage someone, often publicly. In this usage, a noun or pronoun is typically ...
In climb milling, the cutter has the tendency to push workpiece towards the table, so it is also called down milling. Tendency of holding down the workpiece reduces the cutting vibration. It has tendency to drag workpiece into cutter, so there is a …

The down cut bit (left) leaves very clean edges while the up cut version (right) is far better at evacuating chips but that action can fray the edges of the cut to some degree. When the router is oriented with the bit up, as when mounted in a router table, the side of the bit closest to the operator is turning left to right and the back side ...
The up-cut/down-cut diamond pattern cutting edges effectively grinds through the material evenly in all direcitons. CNC Compression Honeycomb Cutting Solid Carbide Router Bits Compression router bits provide a burr-free top and bottom finish, providing that the workpiece is thicker than 0.250".
In terms of whether a mill is worth the money, it depends on how much lumber you produce and what the price of lumber is in your area. It's a lot of work, so you will have to factor in your time, but with it probably wouldn't take too many days of cutting lumber with a mill to pay for the cost of the mill based on the value of lumber produced.
Similarities between up milling and down milling. Irrespective of up or down milling mode, three process parameters (speed, feed and depth of cut) must be provided for machining. In case of full immersion end-milling operation (slot cutting), both up-milling and down-milling occur one after another in every rotation for each tooth.
Down milling. In down milling (climb milling), the cutting tool is fed in the direction of rotation. Down milling is always the preferred method whenever the machine tool, fixture and workpiece will allow for it. In peripheral down milling, the chip thickness decreases from the start of cut, gradually reaching zero by the end of cut.

These down cut end mill bits are especially useful when routing material such as melamine and plywood. Down cut spiral bits are designed to produce perfectly clean edges on the top face of the work piece but since the bit's geometry causes the wood chips to travel in a downward direction, which will cause the tool path to be obstructed, it ...

In up milling, the direction of the cutter rotation is opposite to that of work done.Whereas in the down milling, the direction of the cutter rotation coincides with the feed direction.. In up milling, the thickness of the chip is minimum at the beginning of the cut and it reaches to maximum when the cutting ends.Whereas in the down milling, the cutting forces …

They were still there at 7pm and Chris gave them half the money for cutting the tree down but reserved the rest for when they took away all the debris – the other half of the job. It was cut down, but our driveway got a lot more narrow (Chris can barely squeeze the truck through the opening they left).
Up cut does create a burr so it's OK to use when that is not an issue. These bits are great for roughing material before a 3D profile finish; 2 flute down cut is the "go to" for pocketing/ engraving. If cutting through, it will burr the bottom of your material though; compression (up/down cut) creates a flawless top and bottom finish

1. In up milling the cutter rotates against direction of feed. In Down milling, the cutter rotates with direction of feed. 2. It is also known as conventional milling. It is also known as climb milling. 3. In this, chip width size is zero at initial cut and increase. with feed.
1. Turn the acetylene knob on the cutting torch about a quarter of a turn and light the acetylene. Make sure that the flame is up against the tip. If you light up the tip and the flame is away from the tip, decrease the acetylene pressure and let the flame come back against the tip. (Use your safety equipment.) CAPTION 8.
