I don't have any input on hydraulic chucks, but in my experience there is no comparison between a good milling chuck vs a TG (or any) collet for holding endmills. Gripping power and runout are superior for the milling chuck. We don't normally put endmills 1/2 or larger in collets, and if a milling chuck isn't available, we use a solid holder.
