This is a belt driven hammermill. Other than the McCormick-Deering name on it and a manufactured by International Harvester emblem, I can find no markings. It does set in a dark corner of the toolshed so a closer inspection with a flashlight is in order. This is an item I would like to sell since I am now retired.

1939 International Harvester 1 ½ HP LA Hit and Miss Stationary Gas Engine. Up for auction is a 1939 International Harvester LA stationary gas engine. The engine is in great running condition with the no cracks. Breaks, or welds. Only problem with the engine is a leaky gas tank which should be an easy fix.

There was also a Type A and a type D and they came in 6, 8 and 10 inch size. The B is designed to grind ear corn but will also grind shell corn or small grain.

Re: IH Model D 10"Burr Mill. A Type C grinder was for shelled corn and was made in 6 & 8" sizes. The type B was available in 6, 8,&10" sizes and had a cob breacker in it. It had a flywheel behind the belt pulley, at least on the early models. The type D had a husk cutter/grinder built into it to handle ear corn with the husks on them.

Vintage Dempster Hit Miss Burr Grinder/Mill and stands around 22 inches tall without the funnel/hopper. I did not try turning anything so it may need some cleaning. The bottom base does not have any chips or cracks. Looks like it missing a latch/bolt that holds the cover which is shown in the 6th picture.
